Some screentime like 1-2hours total in a day is fine. But I want to promote a ‘gadget free’ home as much as i can. I admit, Katie learned so much using ipad while watching videos in youtube and in fisher price mobile app. Her ability in shapes, colors, alphabets and numbers was founded using these materials, I admit. But of course, nothing beats learning the traditional way. Books and toys.
Since her 2 years old, after i gave birth to Gwen. I started doing my research of activities we can do to enhance her fine and gross motor skills. Since then, I bought materials that can enrich more of her skills. Toy Kingdom and National Bookstore have been my place for shopping. Divisoria too 🙂
One mommy from Parent’s Circle Pasa-buy group in facebook hosted an event for a group buy of these wooden toys in wholesale price.

- Train Shape
- Geometry Blocks – Material that Katte used during her trial class in Montessori

Next project is how to store this in Montessori way. One of the things I’ve learned with Katte’s occupational therapist is that, buy toys according to her age. It’s true that learning and milestone has its own pace and that as a parent, we need to listen and respond to the way how our children learn.
